Our Commitment

Calm Mind Psychology is committed to ensuring equal access and participation for people with disabilities. We are committed to treating people with disabilities in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We believe in integration, and we are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner.

We will do so by removing and preventing barriers to accessibility and by meeting our accessibility requirements under Ontario's accessibility laws, including the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code.

Accessible Services

Office Accessibility

  • Accessible parking: Free parking available on-site with accessible parking spaces
  • Building access: Wheelchair-accessible entrance and elevator access to our office
  • Accessible washroom: Wheelchair-accessible washroom facilities available in the building
  • Service animals: Service animals are welcome in our office
  • Support persons: Support persons are welcome to accompany clients to appointments

Virtual Services

We offer virtual therapy sessions across Ontario, which can increase accessibility for many individuals:

  • No travel required - attend from home or a location of your choice
  • Compatible with screen readers and keyboard navigation
  • Closed captioning available for video sessions upon request
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate individual needs

Communication

We are committed to communicating with people with disabilities in ways that take into account their disability:

  • We can provide documents in alternative formats upon request (large print, electronic format compatible with screen readers)
  • We communicate via phone, email, and text message to accommodate various preferences
  • Extra time can be provided for completing forms or assessments if needed
  • We are happy to repeat or rephrase information as needed

Training

Dr. Jamil has received training on Ontario's accessibility laws and the Ontario Human Rights Code as it applies to people with disabilities. This training helps ensure respectful and effective service delivery to all clients.
